"Florence Edna Berge, 92, of Fond du Lac, died peacefully in Appleton, on March 5, 2012. She was a resident of Touchmark in Appleton, where she lived with courage and grace, near her son, Jim, and daughter-in-law, Amy, who provided daily support and encouragement in her later years. Throughout her life, she was strengthened and lead by her strong Christian faith, a witness and example to all around her, especially her family.

She was born July 15, 1919, to Walter and Elsie Weyer Wehrwein in Newton, Wisconsin, the youngest of three children. On December 16, 1939, she married Harold O. Berge and moved to Fond du Lac in 1960. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1963. On November 29, 1975, she married Oley E. Berge. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2006.

She served as parish secretary for Faith Lutheran Church in Valders and for Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. In between, she worked for George Proman Brokerage Firm. She was a wonderful mother, a beautiful woman, a proud grandmother, and an avid sports fan. She spent her summer days listening to Brewers baseball games announced by Bob Uecker. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining, and most of all, she loved playing bridge.

She is survived by her sister, Gladys; and four sons: Thomas, James, John and David, and their families: Tom's wife Barb, and son, Brian, and daughter, Sarah, and four great grandchildren; Jim's wife Amy; John's wife Lynn, and daughter Maren; and David's daughters: Kristin and Rebekah, and son, Mark. She is further survived by her stepsons: Richard and wife, Evie, David and wife, Gail, and Paul and wife, Karen, and a stepdaughter, Judy, and husband, Bill Weitzel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and her brother, Lester. Burial will be at Valders Lutheran Cemetery."
